Kate Thomas is a Brooklyn-based theatre writer and occasional actress. She received her MFA in Musical Theatre Writing from Tisch, and wrote the book and lyrics for her musicals with Joey Contreras, Ring Around (Formerly known as All the Kids are Doing It - Provincetown Playhouse, Tisch New Studio on Broadway, O'Neill NMTC Finalist) and Forget Me Not (29-Hour Equity Reading Coming December 2017). Her songs have been performed at numerous New York City venues including 54 Below, Lincoln Center, and The Laurie Beechman. Her play, Dirty July, was part of New York Theater Festival's SUMMERFEST, and won a reading series with Monsterpiece Theater Collective. It is also an October 2017 selection for The Eddy Theatre. She has contributed blog posts to a multitude of platforms, including ONMOGUL.com, The NewMusicalTheatre.com Green Room, and Thought Catalog. As a performer, she has appeared in productions of Five Women Wearing the Same Dress (The Duo), Spring’s Awakening (AlphaNYC), and Spike Heels (ATA).
